Our Next Generation programme brings together rising stars from councils across the UK to collaborate on real-world challenges, share experiences and learn from peers across local government. It’s an opportunity to step back from day-to-day responsibilities, gain fresh perspectives and develop your professional network while exploring innovative solutions that can benefit your council.
The core of this six-month programme is a series of four mentor-led group sessions facilitated by senior directors in a local authority. In each session, one group member will share a live challenge they are facing, giving colleagues the opportunity to discuss the situation, reflect on their own experiences and explore practical approaches together.
Alongside the mentor sessions, there will be informal peer exchanges to connect with fellow participants, share ideas and learn from different perspectives across the wider cohort.
The programme is designed for colleagues who are excelling in their current roles and are keen to develop their skills, learn from experienced senior officers and build lasting connections across local government.
