Reorganising for outcomes

Join senior officers and strategic leaders affected by Local Government Reorganisation to collectively navigate this period of significant change.   

We are convening a series of sessions bringing in leading local government figures with direct experience of unitarisation to share lessons learned.  We will examine the key considerations and challenges in developing new ways of working and innovative operating models that deliver with and for communities in place.  

To kick off the series we will be joined by Andrew Seekings, Chief Executive of Cumberland Council to share his insight into reorganisation. He will discuss the experience of creating the unitary of Cumberland which was formed in April 2023, having previously served as Chief Executive at Allerdale Borough Council.   

We will also consider the critical conversations we need to be having now—with colleagues, national government, partners, and communities—to drive collaboration and joint working to achieve this outcomes-focused future.
