Stronger Things Live Lounge: How Community Appointment Days cut health and social care waiting lists

In the face of the unrelenting demand crisis, radical innovation is required. This is what Sussex Musculoskeletal Partnership achieved with resounding success in early 2023 with their Community Appointment Days.

In this session we hear from the people who made that vision a reality. They explain how over two days they provided community-powered, strengths-based support to 550 people, reducing the size of the routine waiting list by 50% overnight, and connecting a third of patients to a community service on site.

The MSK team moved beyond toes and knees to something which looked at the health and wellbeing of that person in totality. And on top of all this, they reduced their appointment waiting time by five weeks!
