Strategy Lab: Achieving prevention and economic growth within local systems

This session is for senior local government officers to share opportunities, challenges and learning on how to make progress towards achieving stronger local economies entwined within a prevention-focused local system.

We will explore different approaches councils are taking, looking at both building a long-term ambition, but also discussing where there is potential for quick wins. We will also look at opportunities to progress with challenges that everyone needs to consider, such as fairer funding and the constant pressure on resources.

We’ll also reflect on the shift needed to build this securely into a place, with ideas towards ‘councils of the future’.

Our Strategy Lab sessions are a space to come together to discuss bold, practical ideas to futureproof councils and to create the conditions for place-based responses to the big challenges we face.
