Strategy Lab: Moving forward policy and practice on place-based prevention

This session is for senior local government officers to share opportunities, challenges and learning on how to make progress towards developing a more prevention-focused local system. Specifically unpacking the understanding that to move towards this long-term ambition, we also need quick wins, progress and momentum to help us learn about and build the ways of working, confidence and capabilities needed to support a more preventative system.  

In this session we will hear from Lil Brett, Director – Culture, Customer and Residents and Joanne Moulton, Programme Director – Community Focus, at Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames about their prevention focused work.  And as a group, we will then explore:

• Creating opportunities to experiment with more preventative approaches 
• Unlocking resources to support this work
• Building confidence in and growing these preventative approaches 

Our Strategy Lab sessions are a space to come together to discuss bold, practical ideas to futureproof councils and to create the conditions for place-based responses to the big challenges we face.
