New Local appoints Anna Randle as Chief Executive
New Local is delighted to announce the appointment of Anna Randle as its new permanent Chief Executive.
Anna is a long-standing champion of bold and creative local government and community power. She has a wealth of expertise in leadership development and supporting local authorities and their partners to achieve place-based change, with experience in both national and local government and as the former Chief Executive of Collaborate CIC. She has worked closely with New Local over the past year and served as Interim Chief Executive since January, following the departure of Jessica Studdert to take up a role in the Number 10 Policy Unit.
Anna’s appointment comes at a significant moment for local government and public service reform, as councils and communities navigate a rapidly changing national landscape full of both challenges and opportunities.
Anna Randle, newly appointed Chief Executive of New Local says:
“It’s an enormous privilege to lead New Local at such a pivotal and energising moment. Across the country, local authorities, communities and partners are reshaping the state from the ground up, thinking about how power, prevention and place come together to shape better public services and places. I’ve seen the energy and ambition across our network, and I’m excited to build on that momentum to ensure New Local plays its role in forging and navigating towards this future, working alongside an incredible team and our members.”
Katie Kelly, Chair of New Local, says:
Following an extensive and robust recruitment process, I am delighted to confirm Anna Randle as New Local’s Chief Executive. Anna is an experienced and highly respected CEO who brings credibility, integrity and collaborative leadership at a time when local government needs bold thinking and strong networks. On behalf of the New Local board, I want to thank the many leaders who expressed an interest in this role and the team at Peridot for supporting our recruitment.”
Looking ahead, New Local will continue to convene system leaders, influence national debate and support place partners to develop practical, community-powered approaches to the challenges they face.
