How do we tell better stories? Use data intelligently? Connect with diverse communities? Counter misinformation?
Community-powered councils require a different kind of communications. Join New Local for our first workshop especially designed for local government comms professionals.
This is your chance to meet peers across different organisations, share insights, compare challenges and build a supportive network.
We’ll hear from two people who have led fresh and impactful approaches to communications:
- Mike Doran will delve into Liverpool City Council’s award-winning response to last summer’s riots, exploring how communications teams can navigate crises, inspire collective action and use social media to their advantage.
- Katherine Shipton will explore her experience of setting up Surrey County Council’s Resident Intelligence Unit – one of the first council divisions dedicated to measuring residents’ experiences. She will explore how councils can harness the power of research, data and evidence to drive strategic communications and build trust.
This session will be directed at mid-to-senior level communications professionals in local government, and those who work closely with them.
