How can community power be centred in LGR?

New Local is convening this peer-led session with chief executives and senior officers involved in LGR to explore how in practice community-led ways of working and collaboration can enabled through the process. The session will feature Donna Nolan, Chief Executive, Watford Borough Council and is designed to explore the following questions:

• What is the nature of the opportunity to put community power at the heart of LGR?
• How are councils approaching locality and neighbourhood-led models that involve communities in their current approach?
• What would a new model look like? What do we need to think about now to ensure we move towards the outcomes we need?
• How do we influence other stakeholders including government?

This timely session aims to create space for the mutual exchange of ideas, to understand and explore together how different areas are thinking about community power and locality-led models, as part of the wider process.
