Pioneer Working Group: Mindset and models – how can we support public service reform?

1pm - 2.30pm  |  29 September 2026  |  Online

As the challenges facing places become more complex and expectations of public services continue to change, the ways we transform public services needs to evolve. Delivering better outcomes increasingly depends on working alongside residents, communities and partners, rather than relying solely on traditional organisational approaches.

This workshop series is designed to help you explore:

  • the mindsets and ways of working needed to thrive in this context
  • models that support the learning, collaboration and innovation needed to develop next generation public services

Together, we will explore how to reframe the problems and opportunities we are tackling, understand the relational skills and behaviours that underpin community-powered practice, and the organisational conditions that support learning, collaboration and innovation. We will co-develop organisational principles that support – adaptive, collaborative solutions and focused on unlocking the strengths of communities to achieve lasting change.

If you are leading transformation in your council, or are a senior leader looking at organisational design for outcomes please join us.

Do get in touch with Laura Payne (lpayne@newlocal.org.uk) if you would be interested in joining the group. Meeting dates: 29 September, 15 October, 5 November and 26 November.
