At this event we will talk through our latest research report, Constructing Consensus: The case for community-powered development and regeneration.

Unblocking the planning system is a top national priority, and there is wide support for the Government’s mission to rapidly boost housing supply. In what can be extremely adversarial planning processes, communities are often characterised as NIMBYs, prone to opposing development. This report sets out evidence and insights from existing practice which shows where local communities have been involved early and meaningfully in housing and regeneration development, they are supportive of new schemes and can demonstrate real ambition.

This launch session will draw together stakeholders and local government to share the key findings from the research, and to discuss how the recommendations in the report can be put into practice by those working in the sector to support the new government’s ambitions on housing, regeneration and devolving power to communities.
