A designer by training, Emma has spent the last 20 years working on complex social issues with a wide range of stakeholders including Central Government, Local Government, NHS, voluntary and private sector.
At New Local she leads our Practice and Programmes, supporting partners to deliver community powered approaches – from shaping community led strategies to helping organisations to enable community-led prevention.
Emma’s previous career has been in two key chapters. Chapter one; designing and delivering exemplar public services that demonstrate a future welfare state, built on relationships rather than transactions, at Participle. Chapter two: solving complex issues that are shared across multiple institutions in areas such as children’s social care, mental health, adult social care, public health and housing at a large consultancy.
Their local: Emma runs the scarecrow trail in her Essex village, which sits on a roman road that ran from St. Albans to Colchester.
