Alistair joined New Local in April 2025 as Senior Practice and Research Lead.
Alistair is working to develop the evidence base for community power and put it into practice with local councils.
Prior to joining New Local Alistair worked in social research and evaluation, speaking with local councils, funders, charities and residents to understand more about their need and how they can be supported. His work ranged across issues related to children and young people, poverty and welfare, physical and mental health, and crime and justice.
Before entering the world of research Alistair first worked as a journalist, and he holds a BA in Politics and International Relations and an MA in in journalism.
Their local: Alistair grew up and still lives in Croydon, the birthplace of dubstep and home to England’s first major international airport.
