Steph is passionate about supporting places to shift from service-led models to approaches shaped and led by communities. She loves working at the intersection of community power, public service reform, and culture change.

With a background in social innovation and systems change, Steph previously worked at the Innovation Unit. There, she collaborated closely with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, NHS, local government, and the VCFSE sector to deliver Live Well—a mayoral manifesto commitment and the region’s core strategy for prevention. Steph spent a big part of her career working in the VCFSE sector, including with High Trees Community Development Trust in Lambeth, cementing her belief that communities are best placed to make decisions about the places they live in and the support they receive.

Their local: After moving to London 12 years ago, Brixton and South London have become a firm home until last year, when Steph made the move across the river to Stoke Newington. She now enjoys getting to know her new community, the local parks, and her very lovely next-door neighbours.
