Innovation Exchange: Preventative approaches – Improving Outcomes for Young People

One of the most literal future-thinking approaches is working with and investing in young people, our future generations. At this Innovation Exchange we will explore how different local authorities are focusing on this work, particularly around prevention.

We will hear from Tom Bowring, Director of Corporate Resources, Vale of Glamorgan, about the impact of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act and their work around preventative budgeting, ringfenced for young people. We’ll also hear from other colleagues working in this space.

In small, facilitated breakout groups, you’ll have the chance to connect meaningfully with colleagues from across the UK to exchange ideas and examples of how working with young people is approached in your place. 

You will come away with:

• An understanding of how different councils are working with young people
• Key considerations and next steps to bear in mind when implementing different approaches
