The Climate Emergency: Mobilising Your ResidentsRegister now
Many councils have declared a climate emergency and pressure is growing for councils to act on those declarations. But what does an effective strategy for emissions reductions look like in a place? Where can councils take direct steps to reduce emissions and where must they mobilise a wider network of partners and residents? And how can that wider mobilisation be made to work?
Failure to answer these questions could be costly both in terms of a council’s credibility and in terms of environmental goals. There is much to learn from behavioural insights interventions and other approaches being adopted across the country. This session will be a prime opportunity to hear from councils taking action and think through new responses yet to be tried.
“Do not miss a New Local Innovation Exchange – I came back to my council with fresh insights, practical ideas for implementation and a brand new network of people in exactly the same boat as me”Joanna Ruffle, Director of Transformation, Southend Council
Innovation Exchanges give participants from our member councils a space to step away from day-to-day activities and engage with peers from across the country. Each session addresses a big challenge or opportunity facing councils and their communities. Sessions are peer-led and practically-focused, so participants come away with insights, ideas and learning to share with their teams.
