Innovative community engagement: Reflections
Register nowThe Local Government Association, New Local and TPXimpact are working together on an exciting project to capture and celebrate examples of innovative community engagement.
Over the past few months, we’ve heard inspiring stories of councils, communities and partner organisations bravely moving beyond traditional forms of consultation to find new ways of listening to and involving residents. If you are reading this, you may be one of the bright sparks driving this change in some way.
Nearly 400 bright sparks from across the country came together in our recent workshop series to learn from these examples and share best practice on how councils and combined authorities can strengthen their community engagement.
Join us on Tuesday 21st March for a gathering where we will reflect on the lessons learned from this project.
What to expect:
- Guest Speakers: NESTA PPR on the power of co-design and new ways of addressing shared challenges
- Discussion on lessons learned from the Innovative Community Engagement project and actions you are planning/taking following the workshops
This virtual workshop is open to all, regardless of role or council size, tier or location. We’ve deliberately kept things to one hour, so the workshops are as accessible as possible.
Bring a buddy!
In our last workshop series, we heard that many council officers struggle to communicate the value of more participatory and deliberative engagement approaches to colleagues in other teams. For these workshops, we are asking you to bring along someone in your council who you want to hear about this. Perhaps it’s a colleague in your customer service, planning, legal or finance teams. Or could it be a Head of Service, Director or elected member? Forward this invitation to them and let us know on the sign up form that “Yes! I will find a fellow Bright Spark” so we have a sense of numbers.
