Reorganising for outcomes

1pm - 2pm  |  8 May 2025  |  Online

Join senior officers and strategic leaders affected by Local Government Reorganisation to collectively navigate this period of significant change.

We are convening a series of sessions bringing in leading local government figures with direct experience of unitarisation to share lessons learned.  We will examine the key considerations and challenges in developing new ways of working and innovative operating models that deliver with and for communities in place.

At this second session we will be joined by Sam Plum, Chief Executive of Westmorland and Furness, formerly Chief Executive of Barrow in Furness District Council.  She will talk about the difficulty of political and geographic disagreement on unitarisation, the scale of the transformation required and how to keep the focus on what’s best for place and residents.

We will also consider the critical conversations we need to be having now—with colleagues, national government, partners, and communities—to drive collaboration and joint working to achieve this outcomes-focused future.

These sessions are for Chief Executives, Deputy Chief Executives and senior strategic leads working on reorganisation. If you’d be interested in joining this session please email us.
