Katy joined as New Local’s Director of Communications in September 2019.

Before this, she spent three years managing communications and alumni relations at Prisoners’ Education Trust. Katy trained as a journalist, and reported on international competition law for a period before joining the non-profit sector.

Their local: Katy grew up in Streatham, which is also famous for being the birthplace of Naomi Campbell, having an Olympic-sized ice rink and hosting a high street that was once voted the worst road in Europe by Radio 4 listeners.
